Wes Anderson

Wes Anderson is an american movie director, writer and producer. He was born in Texas in 1969 and since he was a little child he dreams about to make films. He studied philosophy In the university, the place where he met the friends who help with his dream in the future, like Owen Wilson, one of the recurrent actors in his movies.

The first Wes Anderson's film was "Bottle Rocket" with Owen Wilson, its was followed by "Rushmore" (1998) and "The Royal Tenenbaums" (2001), the most succesfull film at this time. Later, he makes "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" (2004), "The Darjeeling Limited" (2007), the animation film (and one of my favourites) "Fantastic Mr. Fox" (2009) and finally "Moonrise Kingdom" (2012). 

 

I like the films of Wes Anderson because he can create a own world, what we can´t see in another places. The characters and the locations are excessively peculiar. Their films was full of maniac and inexpressive characters, who were make anormal actions for the rest of the people, but very logical in the mind of these guys. The moments was very weird, with a lot of akward moments, and it an causes a funny strangeness in the audience. I invite you to watch his movies and discover the world of Wes Anderson.

Iron Man 3

Hello! I'm going to talk about the last movie I saw: Iron Man 3. Me and my friends went to the cinema to watch it. The past tuesday one class was cancelled because the teacher was ill. But, we don't go to our houses yet because we must go to a English class, that it was in the afternon. For this reason, we decided make the most of our time and go to the cinema. We go to Cinemark, the next at our University.

The movie was the third part of a saga but is not necesary watch the other films to understand the story. In summary, the movie talk about the life of a millonaire, Tony Stark, who was developed technology of last generation in the world of war. The problems arises when a new villain appear with the intention to destroy Tony Stark and his machinery and take the control of the United States government.

Iron Man 3 was protagonized by Robert Downey Jr. in the rol of Tony Stark and Guy Pearce in the rol of the villain, Aldrich Killian. Both actors usually plays those types of caracters. In the case of Downey Jr: funny and arrogant.  And in the case of Pearce: the bad guy of the movie.

The movie was very enjoyable with all kind of explosions, combats in the air and earth, and all the differents ways of show the technology used by the principal chatacter Tony Stark. But they are very well know resources of the action films to surprise with hasn't something really new to show.

About technology

I'm going to talk about my relationship whit technology. I have a Canon camera, which I love to use to take photos and make videos. I use it every moment which I can. And is very usefull for my career: Cinematography. I like to think all the possibilities of making different things with only a camera. From artistic pieces to documentary.

For other side, I like the small and simple pieces of technology which accomplish important objectives like make a good travel. I talk about the personal mp3 or mp4. I have one since 2009. It was a gift of Christmas. From this moment to now, my travels in public bus or subway was more interesting. I don't need to pay attention in the spend of the time or in the sad faces in of the people in the afternoon. Is just necessary to put “play” in my mp3 for listening greats artists who transport me in another places. My mp3 is full of Bob Dylan and Sigur Ros songs, and all the music which I love and listening every day. 

The life without these pieces of technology would be very different. The life was possible but it would be significantly more boring. Because without this pieces of technology was related with art. Without these pieces of arts, woldn’t exists the cinematography or the diffusion of music.

Hello again!

I'm going to talk about Pink Floyd.

This was a progressive rock band of Englad, very influencial in the story of music. The original members were  Roger Waters (bass player), Syd Barrett (compositor and guitarrist), Nick Mason (drummer) and Richard Wright (keyboardist) and they all can sing. In early years of the band, they created psychedelic music. Time later, the guitarrist and singer, David Gilmour replace Syd, who was unable to play and sing. Years, later, the style of music changed, from psychedelic, to progressive rock. Pink Floyd have many discs, each one of wich are greats. My favourites are The Wall and Wish you were here.

I like the music of this band, because it can transport the people to another places, with very emotional sounds and lyrics.  They work not only with the sound of their instrumens, also with all kind of world's sounds like machines (in the song Money) or the dog barking (in the song Seamus). One of my favourite song is Wish you were here, who reminds me importants moment in my life with my girldfriend Valentina. The song was full of emotion and nostalgia. 

Unfortanely, at present this band don't exist but it possible go to see the shows of two of the original members: Roger Waters and David Gilmour, who plays some of the Pink Floyd's old songs. I have the oportunity to see Roger Waters when he came with his band, to repeat The Wall Tour, this was amazing.

Hello! and welcome to my blog!

My name is José Acevedo, but all the people just  call me"Pepe". I prefer that, because my family was full of "Jose" and that was the reason of a lot of confusions. I was born in 23rd January of 1991 in Santiago of Chile. Years later, I went to a school in the middle of the city called San Ignacio where I make someone of my biggest friends.

Actually, I study for be a filmaker in the Universidad de Chile and this is my fourth year. My parents are José and Yaline and I have two sister, Carolina and Marlen. I am the youngest of the three. My sisters are 11 and 12 years older than me. Marlen lives in a department in Ñuñoa and Carolina lives in Talagante with her husband Rodrigo and their little child (and my first niece!) Emilia. 

I like all the things related with arts. I like the music very much. I like a lot types of music, but my favourite artists are Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan and Sigur Ros. In my free time, I play the guitar and harmónica and I like make draws and cartoon of the people who I know. My favourite cartoonist is the argentinian artist Liniers. I appreciate very much the artists (and the people in general) who can live doing the things they love.
